Riga Stradinš university is looking for an anthropologist to fill in a short-term post-doc position. This person will be employed as a replacement for the lead researcher at in a project that has been almost concluded. The original post-doc cannot continue working for this project and thus needs a replacement (according to the original terms of the grant). The period of the position is May-August 2022. During this period the main official tasks of the researcher will be to prepare a grant application for the Latvian research agency and participation in organising a short summer school (preparations etc already done).

This is a full-time position, payment is 1500 eur/month (plus taxes). Relocation to Riga for the duration of the project is expected. There is a possibility to extend the position for at least 3 more years if the grant application is successful. Ideally the person should be interested in one or more of the following: food-chains, food, agriculture, economic anthropology, political anthropology, area specialisation in Western Balkans/Ex-Yugoslavia would also be a bonus. Working knowledge of Latvian language will help but is not obligatory.
